How to Make Your Perfume Last Longer

Where and how you apply it, and how you store it, make a real difference.
Every perfume fades eventually, but a few habits help it last longer.
Apply to clean, moisturised skin. Fragrance holds better on skin that is not dry, so use an unscented lotion first, then spray the perfume.
Choose pulse points. The wrists, the neck and behind the ears are warm areas that help the scent develop. Spray from a little distance instead of using too much in one spot.
Do not rub your wrists together. Rubbing can break down the lighter top notes faster and change how the perfume smells.
Layer when you can. Using a body wash, lotion or deodorant from the same scent family can make the fragrance feel fuller.
Store it well. Heat, direct sunlight and humidity can change a perfume over time. Keep the bottle with its cap on, in a cool, dry place away from the window and, ideally, not in the bathroom.
Be aware of nose fatigue. After wearing a scent for a while you may stop noticing it even though others still can, so avoid adding more spray just because you cannot smell it.
